How to Cast a Cast Net

Hey fellers, this is a demonstration video on how to use a cast net. Cast nets range in radius from about 4-12ft. If your interested in buying a cast net for the first time, make sure to pick one with a shorter radius. The larger the nets radius is the more difficult it will be to cast. Also newer nets should have environmentally safe weights, lead can poison the water, the fish and you, so whenever possible try to keep from using lead.

  1. Hey Mike great video! Some fishermen once told me that if you soak your net in a bucket filled with water and fabric softener it'll soften your net, have you ever experimented with that? If so did it work?

  3. The cast net's instruction manual actually tells you to soak your net in water and fabric softener to relax the plastic. Personally I have never tried it. I'm sure that it would work though.

  8. Hey Taylor! I cast a 4' cast net, I find it to difficult to cast a bigger one and don't like to catch more than I need. As for posting videos all you have to do is, upload your video on YouTube, copy the embed code and paste it on your post comment box when you create a post as a contributer.
